Appointment coordination for the pick-up of the deceased as well as the notification of the death

Our post-mortem examiners can be reached by telephone at the following times:

Monday–Thursday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
Friday 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

During this time, the death certificate can be picked up for certification.

Questions on the cause of death

In case of questions on the cause of death or the post-mortem results, relatives have the opportunity to talk to the responsible specialist or expert in forensic medicine. A callback can be organised via the secretariat

The project "MEDPOL" was carried out by the Federal Criminal Police Office in cooperation with the Austrian Medical Association and experts from different health sectors as well as the police in order to achieve a standardisation of the documentation of injuries and traces in violent crimes.
